This brand new company is based in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. The Company’s philosophy is to ADAPT and OVERCOME the challenges of daily life head on and work with its target audience to achieve its goals. For example, the Dixie Pinafore shown is designed to give discreet access to feeding tubes and was tested by Holly and her family and carers before going into production by a lovely family-owned UK business. By winning Pitch to Rich, Queenie, Godfrey and Company would be able to design more fun, functional and high quality adapted clothing and get them to the children who really need them.
My friend Emlyn is 9 and she has Rett Syndrome. It is a complicated genetic beast which can rob girls of their walking, their talking and quite often their swallow but not their sense of humour or their lust for life. Queenie, Godfrey and Company was inspired by Rett and is hoping to make life a little bit easier (and a little bit more stylish) one garment at a time. Our clothes help make dressing easier, can accommodate access to feeding tubes, back braces, look lovely, feel fantastic and are totally organic (helping to save the planet too). Pretty and Practical! Queenie, Godfrey and Company deserves to win so that children with additional needs can benefit from dressing beautifully, improving their self-esteem and being shown to be well cared for. Don't we all need that?
