The Hayshed Experience
Date for your Diary - Autumn Fayre Saturday 27th October 2012 1.30p.m. to 4.00p.m. – Celebrate The Hayshed Harvest!
The Hayshed Experience is a Community Interest Company close to the heart of The Dispensary. It’s based at Fowl Green Farm, Commondale and provides training and work experience placements for disabled adults. Our friends at the Hayshed explain that their primary objective is creating opportunities for and improving attitudes towards disabled people, to change their lives for the better. Their end goal is to get disabled people working!
Adults can learn new skills and gain new experiences in farming, gardening, or in the tea and farm shop.
The farm is home to a flock of Wensleydale Long Wool sheep, a fold of Highland Cattle, Gloucester Old Spot pigs and free range hens. The farm also grows vegetables, has an orchard of fruit trees and bushes, in addition to several raised beds.
The Autumn Fayre will be a wonderful opportunity for old friends and those new to the farm to come along and help celebrate the harvest, with tea and scones, tasty treats, raffle, stalls and a BBQ!
